Water cooling: Daily monitoring of water quality and pH, regular circuit cleaning, descaling, and disinfection. Biocide treatment to control legionella and biofilm formation. Water treatment chemicals add ongoing operational costs.

Combined cooling: Both air-side and water-side maintenance protocols. The water section requires treatment and descaling, while the air section requires mechanical maintenance. More complex but offers operational flexibility.
